The White House's stone foundation, since not made of brick or uniform in any way, was beginning to falter. Left un-repaired, the foundation was starting to crumble in a variety of places and without Partnerships' grant, we were told the restoration could not have taken place. We're so glad we could help the church protect its' valued historically significant features!
The church was additionally able to fix and clean the brick, as well as other masonry repair to the fellowship hall. This building known as the, "service" building, is used for coffee hour after church, local celebrations, and "Dinner With US", (a free community dinner). The building was built in the 1950's and it's becoming more obvious that the bricks on the west wall of the building no longer have any mortar. There are also bricks that are covered with concrete. The grant will go towards replacing three of the bricks and tuckpointing an area approximately, 5' by 9'.
These improvements to the Pacific Presbyterian Church are the essence of what the Facade Grant stands for. Improving the aesthetic of Pacific is a goal we are reaching one Facade Grant at a time!
